The right time to drink coffee

Drinking coffee in the morning accompanies the lives of many. But a scientific study indicates the danger of this moment, and the reason for this is the hormone cortisol. According to a study from the College of Medical Sciences in Bethesda, America, drinking coffee at certain times does not give us the effect we expect from caffeine. Because the hormone cortisol is affected a lot.

Cortisol is our body’s anti-stress hormone. It helps us revitalize and awaken our senses. There are specific times of the day when the body secretes this hormone, namely: between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. During these times, we must give up coffee and any caffeinated drink. For two reasons :

First, if we drink coffee during these times, our cortisol production will increase. It stresses our bodies – and it stresses us too. Consuming caffeine at a time when cortisol is released makes us more anxious and tired, and we become more vulnerable to stressful situations. In the worst case, the weight increases and the possibility of developing diabetes increases. Thus, our “internal clock” spirals out of control. It can also affect our immune system.

Second, the combination of cortisol and caffeine is not good. When you drink coffee at a time when cortisol is being released, you increasingly develop resistance to the stimulating effect of caffeine. As a result, the caffeine will fade over time, and you will have to drink more and more coffee, more than you would like.

Perfect moments for coffee

In conclusion, the best times to drink coffee, in order to maintain hormonal balance, are between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m , and between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
