Nvidia steps up share buybacks.

Nvidia steps up share buybacks by increasing its repurchase authorization by $150 billion. The AI chip giant’s board of directors has approved this $150 billion increase to the buyback program, bringing the total remaining amount under the program to $235 billion.

The company hailed this as the largest increase in a share buyback authorization in history and plans to complete the remaining program by the end of the 2028 fiscal year. Nvidia‘s current market capitalization exceeds $5.4 trillion.

“Nvidia‘s growth is driven by an unprecedented, once-in-a-generation platform transition toward AI and accelerated computing,” said Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s founder and CEO. “Our cash generation gives us the capacity to invest in the technologies fueling this transformation and to return capital to shareholders. This authorization reflects our confidence in our long-term prospects.”
